Many Happy Returns!
Have you heard? Presqu’ile is the ONLY location in inland North America where Common Terns are flourishing!
Sadly inland populations elsewhere are declining but Presqu’ile’s Common Tern population produced over 600 chicks in the last 2 years! That’s more fledglings than the previous 14 years of the study.
We are thrilled that our investment into tern research and conservation is making such a positive impact!
If you were at our AGM, you heard Common Tern researcher Dr. Jennifer Arnold speak briefly about the reasons for this success. She will be doing an in depth presentation

2024 Waterfowl Weekend
Join Presqu’ile Provincial Park staff and volunteers on Saturday, March 16th and Sunday, March 17th, for the 46th annual Waterfowl Weekend. Waterfowl from over 20 species arrive in Presqu’ile Bay each spring to rest and feed before moving on to their nesting areas.
This gives the public a great opportunity to see and appreciate a wide range of waterfowl species. Those new to birding, as well as experienced birders eager to expand their knowledge, can learn more from naturalist-led viewings. Volunteer naturalists will be set up with telescopes to help visitors to get a closer look.
